How to Play Wisconsin Pick 4

The basic idea of Pick 4 can be summed up in the name of the game, but there are a few more elements to it than selecting four numbers. You also have a lot of choice - over exactly how to play and even how much to wager. Whether you're in the city of Milwaukee or a more remote location, find a Wisconsin Lottery retailer and follow the steps below.

Choose Your Numbers
Pick Your Numbers

Select four numbers between 0 and 9. Mark one from each line on your playslip, so you can choose as many of the same number as you want, e.g. 7777. If you would prefer a random set, select the Quick Pick option.

Decide a way to play
Pick One Play Type

There are two options for how to play in Wisconsin - Straight or Box. This is where you decide whether you want to try to match the numbers in exact order or any order. See the Ways to Play page for more details.

Wager Amounts
Decide On Play Amount

Pick 4 doesn't have one fixed price. You can play for just $0.50 or put down $1 for the opportunity to win twice as much. If you play more than one panel, you can select different wager amounts for each one.

How many draws will you play?
How Many Draws?

Play your numbers for up to seven consecutive days, or 14 draws if you want to enter both the Midday and Evening draws. The total cost depends on your wager amount and the number of draws you play.

Draw Times and Ticket Cut-Offs

Pick 4 draws in Wisconsin take place every day at 1:30 PM CT and 9:00 PM CT. Ticket sales close immediately before the numbers are selected, so that is 1:29:59 PM CT for the Midday draw and 8:59:59 PM CT for the Evening draw. Check your playslips carefully before you enter a draw, as Pick 4 tickets cannot be cancelled.

How to Win Prizes

To win a Pick 4 prize, you must match all four numbers. There are no secondary payouts for getting three or fewer. You must also meet the specific requirements of your play type - a Straight must have all four numbers in exact order, while a Box wins if they are drawn in any order. Go to the Odds and Prizes section to find out all the payouts that are available.
